Hole 1

The opening hole at Bowen offers an opportunity to take a swing at your driver. A penalty area is up the left side but there is plenty of room right. A solid drive inside the big tree just left of the of the fairway allows for a nice approach to the green. The hole plays uphill the whole way so make sure to take enough club. An approach that misses left or long of the green will most likely bounce into trouble. The green has three distinct areas, front left, front right and back. Getting your ball in the right area will make putting a lot easier.

Hole 2

Longest hole on the course with a challenging tee shot over a ravine with a penalty area up both sides of the fairway for 200 yards. Putting your tee shot in play is crucial. A perfect drive over 250 yards with a slight left to right curve will allow an opportunity to go for the green in two. Otherwise, a smart layup to 100 yards will leave a nice wedge into a small elevated green with a bunker short left. Be careful not to carry over the green as your ball will most likely bounce into a penalty area.

Hole 3

Medium length par 4 that offers plenty of room off of the tee. A well placed tee shot at or just right of the 150 marker gives the best angle to approach the green. The green can be diabolical with two very distinct levels. The front half of the green is gettable and balls landing on the left side can funnel close the hole. The back section is small and steep. Trying to get a ball close to this hole location can end up in disaster.

Hole 4

First par 3 on the course and possibly the most difficult. Lucas Lake run up the right side with a bunker protecting the left side of the green. The green has a ridge that runs across the middle creating a slope away on both sides. Any balls landing past the ridge will most likely bounce over the back of the green. The easiest place to chip from is short of the green

Hole 5

Challenging tee shot across a ravine and through a chute of trees. Depending on which tee you are playing it will be 200-230 yards to the end of the fairway straight away. A perfect tee shot will curve right to left aimed over the stump just over the ravine. The green slopes hard from right to left with a steep drop off left and over the back. Missing the green long, left or right will prove to be a difficult up and down.

Hole 6

The second and most scoreable par 3. The hole plays uphill with the green and the green surrounds sloping heavily from right to left. Balls that miss the green on the right fringe (and sometimes rough) will bounce onto the green. The green has 3 distinct areas - front right, front left and back. Balls finishing in the correct level will offer a makeable birdie putt.

Hole 7

Climb up to the highest point o n the golf course, enjoy the view and get ready for a fun par 5 with plenty of trouble but also an opportunity for an eagle/birdie. Your tee shot plays downhill and favours a right to left curve. A well struck tee shot will tempt you into going for the green in 2 shots. Hitting the green requires a carry over a ravine to a small undulated green with 3 distinct sections. Balls that finish on the correct level will offer a short putt but balls on different levels will require precision to two putt.

Hole 8

The final par 3 requires a solid mid to long iron to one of the largest greens on the course. A small bunker protects the right side of the green with a penalty area lurking close by on the left and over the green. Three is a great score here.

Hole 9

Enjoy the view of Seymour Bay and the North Shore mountains as you tee off on our signature hole. Hole 9 plays downhill with a penalty area down the entire left side. The landing area squeezes in tight from around 130-100 yards so you are best to land your ball before or after that area. The green is protected by a small creek, a bunker and a pond. The general slope of the green slopes left to right but it also has a ridge running across the middle that splits it in a front and back half.
